Two recent robberies, including taking away of Rs. 5 lakh from a cash van of a nationalised bank at Khuda Ali Sher continue to remain unsolved. The incident took place on June 27.

Even though a fortnight has been passed the police still have not been able to arrest the accused. The Chandigarh police had also received clues from the CCTV footage but no arrests have been made so far. The robbers had also left behind a Fortuner which was used in Khuda Ali Sher robbery in Manimajra after it had got punctured.

It is suspected that the same gang is involved in the Sunday robbery that took place at a jewellery store in Mansa Devi Complex, Panchkula. The Chandigarh police have got in touch with the Panchkula police and the CCTV footage is also being scanned. Sources claim that the modus operandi of the accused in the robbery which took place on June 27 at Khuda Ali Sher is similar to that of Panckula’s robbery. Both the gangs were carrying weapons, chilly powder, helmets to cover faces and they also used pistol butt to injure others.

The Chandigarh police have not been able to solve the case of carjacking involving undersecretary Ishwar Singh in Haryana law department. Ishwar was abducted, thrashed and thrown out of a moving car on July 7 around 6 am.
