The Punjab Police is likely to summon Olympic medallist Vijender Singh for the investigation over the alleged links with Anoop Singh Kahlon, whose arrest has led to busting of a multi-crore drug racket, within three days.

“We will summon Vijender for the investigation in next 72 hours,” said a high-level source in Punjab Police. “Kahlon has named Vijender and his friend Ram Singh as his client and moreover Ram has confessed that they both had consumed the drug on couple of occasions. So, it’s important to question the Olympian about the allegations,” said the officer.

On, going to be summoned by the police in the coming days, Vijender said, “Whenever and wherever police will call me I will come. I am ready to face any investigation and whatever the help police wants from me I am ready to co-operate.” “When I did nothing wrong, then why should I be afraid,” he added.
