Besides several fresh applicants, existing students who wanted to change their school or stream had applied for admission in the second round of counselling.

Bedi said more than 2,100 seats were allotted during the second round of counselling, of which 1,600 were for general category while the rest were for reserved category.

Fee to be deposited on July 25-26

Candidates who have been allotted seats for the first time are advised to deposit their fee at the school concerned till July 26. In case the fee is not deposited by the due date, the allotment of seat will be cancelled. In addition to the merit list on Thursday, the waiting list has also been uploaded on the department's website.

Candidates who have already taken admission during the first round of counselling will have to get their school leaving certificate and submit it. Those allotted seats on Thursday will be asked to start attending classes after submitting fee as the session has already begun.

After the second round, the department has planned the third round of counseling in the second week of August. Those still unable to find a good school might have some chance since there are several reserved seats which are yet to be filled in some government schools.
