Devotees take dip on the occasion of Maghi

Devotees took a dip in various rivers and ponds in Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh on Tuesday on the occasion of Maghi (Makar Sankranti), reports in Chandigarh said.

A large number of devotees thronged the Takht Pura Gurdwara in Moga district and took a dip in the Sarovar despite biting cold, a report from Moga said.

The people also visited various Gurdwaras in the region, the report said adding that the devotees listened to Kirtan, Langar (community kitchens) were also organised on the occasion.

Reports here said that men and women also took dip in river Yamuna in Sonipat district to mark the occasion.

Accused supervisor still at large
