The Haryana BJP has pooh-poohed the attempt of some politicians from Bihar for what BJP leaders held giving a political colour to the recent statement of BJP Kisan Morcha national president Om Prakash Dhankar in which he was quoted saying that he would get brides for the bachelors of Haryana from Bihar.
Ram Bilas Sharma, BJP president, Haryana told HT that it was sad that some politicians from Bihar were attempting to give a political colour to Dhankar’s statement, which was given as a goodwill gesture.
“Dhankarji ne yeh baat sadbhavna mein kahi thi aur ise tor maror ke nahi dekhna chahiye,” he said meaning that Dhankar had said it as a goodwill gesture and it should not be distorted in this manner.
Meanwhile, Dhankar rebuked what he said “attempt of some politicians to distort his statement”.
“It was my about 40-minute address at Narwana (district Jind) last week of which a few lines have been cut-and-pasted to show as if I was talking about bringing brides from Bihar for bachelors of Haryana,” he said.
“Whereas the reality was that I had said that the poor sex-ratio in Haryana was a matter of concern and that it was illegal and inhuman to purchase brides from other places like Bihar and I would ensure that the problem is addressed by doing it in a dignified and respectful manner which can be done by legally and ethically marrying girls of other states,” he said and added that he had also given the example of Punjab girls who were getting married in other countries like Canada in a respectful manner.
Dhankar said it would have been better and wise to target the issue and not him.

Khattar yet to be sworn in as Haryana CM,  IAS officer positions as his aide

Even before the leader of the BJP legislature group in Haryana assembly, Manohar Lal Khattar could be sworn in as the new chief minister of the state, in a startling development a 1997-batch IAS officer, Pradeep Kasni, seems to have started functioning as his aide in a rather self-styled manner.
