On Wednesday, doctors held a protest rally at the IMA House, Sector 35 against the alleged atrocities against medical students and doctors at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur.

Chandigarh IMA president Dr Harminder Singh has issued directions to all IMA members and the wider medical fraternity to close OPDs on Thursday. However, private doctors will most probably be the one staying off work.

The association added that in interest of patients, emergency services will remain functional. He urged the government, particularly the UT Police to follow directions of the Supreme Court, according to which no doctor can be arrested without proper inquiry by a committee of experts.

IMA national vice-president Dr R S Bedi said: "These atrocities on the doctors are not isolated incidents. We demand that the false cases registered medical students should be withdrawn immediately and stern action be taken against the miscreants."

OMG! MSG is finally here

For once, Salman bhai must be having sleepless nights, and Shahrukh Khan must already be counting his days in the industry. PK or no PK, Aamir ‘sincere’ Khan would probably be the only Khan of the troika who would somehow find a way to remain in the industry despite this tsunami. Even Rajinikanth must be mulling retirement after all.Writes Aarish Chhabra
