The district unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Friday, held a NaMo tea programme at the bar association office in the judicial complex of Panchkula. Former member of Parliament (MP) Rattan Lal Kataria was the chief guest on the occasion.

Felicitating Kataria on the occasion, association president Ved Bhushan Mahajan said the entire country wanted Narendra Modi to be the Prime Minister of India. Stating Narendra Modi as a dynamic leader, Mahajan said it was Modi who could put India back on the growth path, take the country out of the grip of economic slowdown and curb the problems of inflation and unemployment.

Kataria added that he himself was a lawyer and thus had understood the problems faced by his lawyer community.

He promised setting up chambers for lawyers if the BJP was voted to power. Kataria also said if the party bestowed faith in him, he would come back to seek their blessings as the candidate of the party. He added that the UPA government had tarnished the shining performance of six years of the NDA under the leadership of Vajpayee. District chief Vishal Seth also addressed the gathering.
