Former PPSC chairman passes away

Chief minister Parkash Singh Badal has expressed grief over the demise of Jaswant Rai Bansal, former Punjab Public Service Commission chairman and ex-member of Union Public Service Commission.

Bansal passed away in New Delhi on Friday after a brief illness. He was 88.

Bansal was the father-in-law of SC Agrawal, former Punjab chief secretary and currently chairman of Punjab State Right to Service Commission.

Meanwhile, deputy chief minister Sukhbir Singh Badal and revenue and public relations minister Bikram Singh Majithia also mourned the passing away of Bansal, according to a release.
