At 8.30 pm, their doorbell rang up. Anirudh opened the door and found two women. The women asked Anirudh about his father Rajeev, owner of a poultry farm. Anirudh replied that his was not at home. Soon, few men brought Gupta inside at knifepoint and threatened both of Anirudh and Gupta to reveal about the jewellery kept at the house. They brought Reena also.

The convicts tied their mouth, hands and feet of all of them with dupattas and pushed them inside a bathroom. Anirudh's friend Praveen Singla arrived at the house that time and he was also held hostage with his mouth and hands tied.

The convicts took away Anirudh's I-phone, Singla's Samsung Note-II, a laptop, around `15,000 cash and silver utensils.

Rajesh Kumar, an employee of Rajeev Garg, who came later to the house, freed all the hostages. Eventually, the police were called and a case was registered.
