Four of family from Haryana die in HP road mishap

Four people, including two women, of a family were killed and two others injured when their car rammed a parked truck at Hatwas in Kangra district along the Pathankot-Mandi national highway early on Sunday. 


Kangra sub-divisional police officer Dinesh Kumar said the car was on its way from Chintpurni to Palampur when the accident occurred at 2am under Nagrota Bagwan police station, killing three people on the spot. Kavita, 40, succumbed to her injuries  at government medical college, Tanda.

The DSP said the deceased were identified as Parwati Devi (60), her son Rakesh Kumar (40) and her grandson Ajay Kumar (18), all residents of Panipat, Haryana.

The injured Mohit (18) and Vijay Kumar (12) were under treatment at Tanda hospital. Both were out of danger.

It was after a struggle of seven hours that the bodies could be taken out of the car, the DSP said. Police registered a case and the bodies were handed over to the relatives of the deceased after post-mortem.
