Gang of six rob man, one held.

The local police have arrested one person, who, along with five others, had robbed a resident of Mauli Complex in Manimajra, Chandigarh, on Sunday.


According to police, Dharminder, a resident of Mauli Complex, along with five others, had robbed Arun Maurya of `5000 near Mehar Jewellers near Mauli Complex.

After the incident, the victim reported the matter to the police and managed to arrest Dharminder. Other accused involved in the crime, are still at large.
A case of theft after preparation made for causing death, hurt or restraint in order to commit theft (382) and acts done by several persons under Sections (34) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered at Manimajra police station.

In another case, Nirmal Kumar, a resident of SAS Nagar, alleged that, a group of five persons fled away after beating him at a petrol pump at Sector 15. The police was informed and the victim was rushed to Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER).
A case of wrongful restraint (341), wrongful confinement (342), criminal intimidation (506) and acts done by several persons under sections (34) IPC has been registered at Sector 11 police station.
