Deputy commissioner, Panchkula, SS Phulia has instructed all heads of departments to issue receipts to people who move any application regarding work before them.

He has also ordered that a register be maintained where the application should be provided with a serial number and be decided within a specified time. During a monthly meeting with officers on Tuesday, he instructed that in these registers, all details should be written regarding the request so that it could be found out as to how much time had been taken to resolve the matter.

To officials dealing with birth and death certificates, he instructed that these be issued within three days.

Further, the DC directed that applications be accepted if they are accompanied with required documents, and, while rejecting them, departments have to mention the reasons, so that the applicant can make amendments.

“This will ensure people’s faith in the administrative mechanism, and the burden of work on officers can also be lightened,” the DC said.

Publicise the work
DC Phulia also told officers to issue press notes regarding various schemes of their departments, the work accomplished by them and also about the schemes to be launched in future.
