Haryana excise and taxation minister Kiran Chaudhry was injured when stones were hurled at her while she was addressing a gathering at a village 10km from Narnaul town on Wednesday evening.
She was rushed to the Narnaul civil hospital, where she was administered first aid before being referred to a Gurgaon hospital.
Chaudhry had reached Koriwas village in a cavalcade to campaign for her daughter Shruti Chaudhry, who is the Congress candidate from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh. It was dark around 7.30pm when she was addressing residents. Three stones were thrown at her from the crowd. One of the stones hit her in the chest.
Narnaul SP Jagat Singh Hooda said that a criminal case had been registered and he was at the village to investigate the matter.
