Hot, sultry weather conditions prevail in Punjab, Haryana

Hot and sultry weather conditionsn prevailed in Punjab and Haryana on Saturday with Mercury hovering several notches above normal at most places.


Hisar was the hottest place at 43.5° Celsius, up by 5 notches above normal, MeT department report said.

Among other places in Haryana, Ambala, Bhiwani, Karnal and Narnaul had high of 39, 42.6, 39 and 41.7° Celsius respectively.

Union Territory Chandigarh had high of 38.4° Celsius, 3 notches above normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar, Ludhiana and Patiala recorded maximum at 41.2, 39.7 and 40° Celsius, up by 6 degrees above normal.

MeT department predicted dry weather conditions during next 24 hours in Punjab and Haryana.
