Hindustan Times report on Punjab politicians’ land deals rocks Punjab Assembly. Congress demands a probe.


Uproar is witnessed in Punjab Assembly for second consecutive day over land deals of Bajwa and Akali treasurer NK Sharma. Revenue minister Bikram Majithia said that they evaded stamp duty, saved income tax and occupied Shamlat land. Meanwhile leader of opposition Sunil Jakhar demanded inquiry into the deals.

Education dept to hire consellors to tackle violence

Keeping in view the increase in violence at government schools in the city of late, the UT education department has started the process to hire 87 counsellors to provide help to students. ile 40 counsellors will be hired for senior secondary schools, the rest will be for high schools.
