Following the complaint by a victim of kidnapping alleging that the police had let off two accused he had handed over to the cops, the senior police officials have marked an inquiry.

Complainant Sanjeev Garg had stated that he had caught the accused and handed them to the staff of Sector 22 police post, but they helped the accused escape from custody. Garg had forwarded a complaint in this regard to inspector general of police (IGP) RP Upadhyaya.

In his complaint to the IGP, Garg had stated that he was kidnapped on gunpoint by Deepak Dahra and his accomplices in November 2013.

On July 10, Garg noticed the accused in Sector 22 and caught them near Rama Store. Garg claimed that he chased Deepak, who allegedly attacked him. Garg also claimed nabbing his accomplice Ashok Dahra. Garg said he called the police, who took both accused to Sector 22 police post and told him to wait outside.

Garg alleged that when he asked the police post incharge Jaspal Singh about the accused, he was told that Deepak and Ashok had fled from the custody.

An inquiry had been marked to Sector 17 station house officer Dilsher Singh, which will be supervised by deputy superintendent of police (central) Ashish Kapoor. The DSP recorded the statement of complainant.
