King of Punjabi soulful music Gurdas Mann enthralled thousands of Canadians in Mississauga with spectacular performance of his songs including 'Roti' and 'Dil Da Mamla Hai'.

Mann, 56, who has brought the Punjabi folk music to the world, also brought tears in the eyes of some of his fans when he sang some of his spiritual numbers yesterday.

"Do your work at your own pace. I do not want to be a celebrity. It is the love of people that I revere the most. I am grateful to those who made me Gurdas Mann," he said.

While one of his fans Manjeet Kaur said, "Singer, poet, actor and above all, his head is still on his shoulders. His modesty is his greatest asset."

Mann has produced over 34 albums and has written over 250 songs in his more than three decade long career.
