Student workers of Indian National Students Organisation (INSO) continued their hunger strike for the 3rd day on Sunday outside vice-chancellor AK Grover's office over the issue of allotment of new building to the department of environment studies at Panjab University.

The students were examined by doctors as their condition deteriorated on Sunday evening.

A block at the botany department building is lying vacant for the past over five years, which was reportedly to be allotted to the environment department. The issue has been highlighted in several media reports, but the block still remains unused.

The INSO leaders claimed that the environment studies department was functioning with four rooms for the past several years, whereas the newly constructed block was lying vacant at the same department building.
