Kamal Kishor elected AAP district unit in-charge

The district body unit of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) was reconstituted during a meeting held here on Thursday. Kamal Kishor Sharma was unanimously elected as district in-charge while Bhag Singh Madan was also elected as convener unanimously.

Manjit Singh was appointed secretary, Sudeep Vij as joint secretary, Kamal Saini as IT in-charge and advocate Uday Verma was unanimously elected the legal advisor of the party.

Lachhman Singh, Gurcharan Singh Ghuman, Gurnam Singh Ladal, Sohan Singh Paprali, Gurmukh Singh Laungia, Amandeep Singh and Manpreet Singh were elected as executive committee members.

Bhag Singh Madan said over 4,000 members had been enrolled in Rupnagar district till January 15 and said they were hoping to register around 50,000 members till January 26.

"A large number of people are coming forward to join the party in Morinda, Anandpur Sahib, Nangal, Chamkaur Sahib and Nurpur Bedi areas of the district,"he said.

AAP Punjab state convener Harjot Singh Bains and state body member Shiv Kumar Kaura also attended the meeting. They said the block-level units of the party would be constituted after January 26.
