Although, the Model Code of Conduct may not be in place for the ensuing Talwandi Sabo by election, yet there are some moral and ethical parameters to be upheld, to allow a free and fair election, said Punjab Congress spokesman Sukhpal Singh Khaira.

It appeared that the sound drubbing of SAD-BJP alliance in Lok Sabha polls, has completely shattered the confidence of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Sensing that he will not be able to dole out government largesse in form of grants, foundation stones, transfer of employees etc., Badal has very cleverly resorted to his pet Sangat Darshan programmes, to influence voters for the by poll in Talwandi Sabo.

In normal course, Badal holds one Sangat Darshan programme in a Vidhan Sabha constituency after a waiting period of many years, but in the case of Talwandi Sabo  Badal has been virtually camping there and holding regular Sangat Darshans, to influence voters in his party's favour, said Khaira.
