Cross police complaints were lodged by security guards of Punjab minister Bikram Singh Majithia and son of former Haryana minister Sampat Singh, who exchanged heated words in the wee hours of Saturday.

However, no case has been registered. According to the police, Majithia was coming from Shimla when Sampat Singh's son Gaurav, who was with his wife, overtook the minister's convoy near the railway light point.

DSP (central) Ashish Kapoor said in his complaint Gaurav alleged that one of the security vehicles chased his car and forced him to stop near the Haryana Raj Bhawan. He alleged that the security guards misbehaved with him and also hurled abuses at him.

The minister's security guards also lodged a counter complaint against Gaurav, alleging that he (Gaurav) first joined the convoy and then sped away, amounting to breach of security of the minister.

According to police, neither of the two parties pursued their complaints and did not come for recording their statements with the police.

Ways of seeing in Le Corbusier’s city

An artist cannot stay aloof because his environment will willy-nilly find its way into his painting. An artist can never create anything in a vacuum. The task of an urban artist becomes more complex because architecture intervenes into his dreams and visions. Writes Nirupama Dutt.
