Maluka suspends DEO, 7 others

Punjab education minister Sikander Singh Maluka has suspended Faridkot district education officer (DEO) and seven other employees in the education department.


Besides DEO Amarjit Singh, the suspended officials are superintendent Balwinder Singh, junior assistant Roop Singh (both posted in the Faridkot DEO's office), clerks Jagdish Chand and Jarnail Singh of the Ludhiana DEO's office, superintendent Bal Kishan and clerk Harjinder Singh in the Rupnagar DEO's office, and Sarbjit Singh from the computer faculty attached with the Hoshiarpur DEO, a spokesman said here.

The suspensions took place on the charges of providing wrong information during the inter-district transfer of teachers and other employees in the department, the spokesman added.
