Man held for minor's abduction; victim recovered

In a month-old abduction case involving a minor girl, the police have managed to arrest the accused and recover the victim. The accused, who is in his early twenties, has been identified as Rahul Kumar, a resident of Colony Number 5. The accused was arrested from Uttar Pradesh where he was living with the girl. The accused has been brought to Chandigarh.


According to the police, Rahul had abducted a minor girl, also a resident of Colony Number 5, in June.

In a complaint lodged with the police, the parents of the victim alleged that the accused lured their daughter and abducted her.Acting on the complaint, a special police team was sent to Uttar Pradesh, which managed to track the accused with the help of the tower location of his mobile number.

The police have got the medical examination of the victim done and its report is awaited.
