Meritorious students' applications sought for scholarship

The Haryana science and technology department has invited applications from meritorious students of MSc and BSc first-year for scholarships with a view to encourage their interest in science stream.


An official spokesman of the department said on Monday that students enrolled in MSc could apply for any one of the subjects and those in BSc (medical or non-medical) in any two subjects in universities and colleges of Haryana for 2014-15 session.

The students of MSc would be given a scholarship of `6,000 per month plus contingency amount and stipend of `5,000 once in a year, whereas BSc students would be given a scholarship of `4,000 a month plus contingency amount and stipend of `4,000 once in a year.

He added that MSc students who had obtained minimum 75% marks in the previous passed class while BSc students with minimum 85% marks in Class 12 were eligible to apply for scholarship. The application form could be downloaded from the department's website, he said, adding that the last date for submission of the application form is October 15.
