There is a need to strengthen the Right to Education Act and Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan only then we will be able to achieve milestone in the education sector. However, whenever I interact with bright students full of energy, I feel that the future of country is in safe hands. President of India Pranab Mukherjee stated during his visit to Sat Paul Mittal School on Tuesday.

He visited the school to lay the foundation stone of Mittal Auditorium.

In his speech at the school, he said, "Sat Paul Mittal School is named after late Sat Paul Mittal with whom I had a long association as he was my colleague in Parliament."

He said Sat Paul Mittal was an institutional builder and a visionary leader. He said he remembered Sat Paul Mittal's social initiatives as he worked closely for spreading awareness regarding family planning.

The President said it was Sat Paul Mittal who opened the Nehru Sidhant Kendra to bring thinkers at the institution of excellence.

He said that he started his career as a teacher and then as a lecturer in a college but he joined politics accidentally and he believed "Once a teacher always a teacher".

While recalling his school memories, the President said when he visited his school recently from where he passed out Class 10, the students interacted with him and he advised them "Love your school, Believe your teacher and Obey your teacher."

He said he represented Jangipur constituency of Murshidabad and he voluntarily chose this backward area as he wanted to create a centre of intelligence for education. He also established a university in the constituency and then he realised that admissions were done on the merit basis and children of backward classes were deprived of education.

To impart education to children of backward classes, he approached the management of Satya Bharti School, which is being run by the Bharti foundation, to open 10 primary schools in his constituency.

He said, "I have learnt with Satya Bharti model that student-teacher ratio is 14:1 so the teacher can attend every student and his overall personality can be enhanced."

Satya Bharti schools lay emphasis on teaching students and building their overall character. He said complete information and knowledge make students rational citizens.
