Neel, Abhinav cruise into semifinals

Neel Dhaliwal and Abhinav registered easy wins in their respective encounters to enter the boys’ under-12 singles semifinals of the Total Tennis Championship, being hosted by Swami Ram Tiratha School, Sector 59, on Wednesday.

In the first match, Neel outplayed Japrosul Veer 6-3 in a onesided affair that lasted just 30 minutes. Meanwhile, Abhinav routed Ksithij Joshi, defeating him 6-0. In the first round matches of the tournament played earlier in the day, Neel had ousted Swamin 6-0, while Japrosul had got the better of Ritvik Narula 6-3.

Abhinav had also prevailed over Rohan, defeating him 6-0. Adil Arora and Kshitij Joshi had got bye into the next stage. Meanwhile, in the boys’ under-14 singles section, Ravi Karan trumped Tanmai 6-4.

Results: Boys’ under-12 quarterfinals: Neel Dhaliwal bt Japrosul Veer 6-3, Abhinav bt Ksithij Joshi 6-0; first round: Neel Dhaliwal bt Swamin 6-0, Japrosul Veer bt Ritvik Narula 6-3, Abhinav bt Rohan 6-0. Boys’ under-14 first round: Ravi Karan bt Tanmai 6-4.
