A native of Nepal was sent to judicial custody for 14 days after being arrested by the UT cyber-cell department for sending obscene messages to a Sector-35 resident through social networking mobile application, WhatsApp, here on Thursday.

A complaint was registered by the victim on March 28, after which an FIR under section 354A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and 66A of the IT Act was registered for sexual harassment.

The complainant stated that she had been getting obscene messages from an unknown number. After investigation, the number was found to be of one Deepak Prasad Yadav, a native of Nepal, who was residing in the city.
