No arrest in Karnal honour killing case

Even 24 hours after the suspected case of honour killing in which a young couple was cremated secretly by their family members on Wednesday, the police have failed to arrest any of the five people named in the FIR. As per the police, the accused are basconding.

On Wednesday morning, Manoj and Kiran, who were in their early twenties, were cremated at Bhaini Kalan village, about 20 km from here.

Deceased belonged to marginal Ahir families of the same village. Some villagers alerted the cops and the mediapersons, who rushed on the spot.

In a complaint lodged by the SHO of Taraori police station, Naseeb Singh, the police have charged five people, namely Manoj’s father Jawala Singh, his sons Rajesh, Sandeep and Dharambir and Kiran’s father Randhir Singh, with conspiring to kill the couple.
