The Punjab government on Wednesday issued orders not to grant leave to officers in groups A and B during the budget session of the Punjab assembly, beginning in mid-July.

Written instructions have been sent to all departments and senior administrative officials concerned, including commissioners and deputy commissioners across the state, a spokesman said.

This has been done to ensure smooth functioning of the session, he added.
