'No salary bill withheld, all DDOs can draw salary'

A spokesperson of the Punjab government on Sunday strongly denied a news item that appeared in a section of press that the state government has withheld salaries of its employees and has not disbursed salaries for the month of March to its employees.


The spokesperson clarified that no salary bills have been withheld due to ways and mean position of the government.
All drawing and disbursing officers may draw staff salaries and make timely disbursement to avoid any inconvenience to the government employees, he added.

Auto driver, aide held for outraging modesty of woman

The local police have arrested auto driver and his aide for allegedly making an attempt to outrage modesty of a 22-year-old married woman on Friday. The police said the victim, who had been working in IT park, had hired an auto to her residence in Baltana.
