Glamour quotient is high in Chandigarh Lok Sabha seat this time with two beautiful Bollywood actors contesting for the ‘City Beautiful’. While the two are being labeled as “outsiders, only to be seen in cinema houses” by the Congress, the party is gearing up for showing its candidate’s 15-minute documentary listing his achievements of the last 15 years on a big screen installed in a mobile van.

Bansal, who otherwise maintains a low-profile, would now be seen on the big screen.

Congress has prepared a 15-minute documentary with collaboration of a Delhi-based agency, which would be shown in various parts of the city and during his campaign. Initially, thre would only be a single mobile van, with more to be added later.

Chandigarh Congress would soon be launching a mobile application too, available for Android-based and iOS-supporting phones. The person downloading this application would get the latest updates on the campaign apart from a complete profile of Pawan Kumar Bansal along with developmental works undertaken by him in Chandigarh. This app has a link to his website and the Facebook page too.

The Congress candidate, also the sitting member of parliament, has shots from across the city displaying development works carried out during his tenure.

Party spokesperson Pardeep Chhabra said, “The movies give an insight into all that has been done for the city by Bansal, who was also the Union railways minister. Chandigarh has been connected to several cities in the past one year through trains.

The movie carries a sequence of the upgrade carried out by Bansal at the railway station.”

About the mobile app, Chhabra said, “The app has an in-built “Help Me” feature, wherein the downloader shall furnish five cell numbers from his or her directory and in case of any emergency, on a single trigger on a button on the app, the five numbers mentioned shall get a message telling the position of the person in trouble, so that immediate action could be taken.”

“While the BJP and the AAP candidates are resorting to Twitter, which caters more to the tech-savvy electorate, Congress seems to be doing it the subtle way. The screen on mobile van will definitely be tremendous”, said former deputy mayor Satish Kainth.
