Officers must rise for National Anthem

Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Charanjit Singh Atwal has instructed all officers who would be present in the assembly to stand up in respect during the National Anthem.

The anthem will be played before the governor's speech in the upcoming budget session that starts on July 15. Disclosing this here today, a spokesperson of vidhan sabha said that now it would be mandatory for all the bureaucrats sitting in the officer gallery, and other officers present in assembly to stand up at time of recitation of national anthem.

He added that in regard to this, written instructions had been sent to all the departments including chief secretary and the administrative secretaries.
