Patiala shooter Heena Sidhu clinched the air pistol women's gold medal at the 7th Asian Championship in Kuwait on Monday.
After her standout performance in the qualification round, Heena was ranked number one with a score of 386/400. She maintained her lead in the final round and shot 200.3 to emerge winner.
Even in the team event, Heena (386), Shweta Chaudhary (378) of Faridabad (Haryana) and Harveen Srao of Patiala won the silver medal with a total score of 1138/1200. In the men's event, Chain Singh bagged the yellow metal in men's air-rifle event. He won the top prize with a score of 206. In the qualification round, his score was 619.6.
In the men's team event, Chain Singh (619.6), Ravi Kumar (620.7) and P T Raghunath (615.8) won the bronze medal. The gold and silver medals were won by China and Iran.
