President's police medal for Punjab ADGP, inspector

Punjab additional general of police (ADGP) Gurdev Singh Sahota, presently commanding the state's armed battalions, and inspector Harpal Singh Mansa have been awarded the President's police medal for distinguished services on the occasion of Republic Day.

The late assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Gurdial Singh has been awarded the President's police medal for gallantry posthumously. The ASI was killed in an encounter while chasing robbers in Ludhiana in 2011.

The others to get medals for meritorious services included DIG Arun Pal Singh, DIG Shive Kumar Verma, SP Rajeshwar Singh Sidhu, DSP Chand Singh, inspector Rattan Lal, inspector Gurjinder Singh, inspector Nirmal Singh, inspector Slamudeen, SI Iqbal Singh, SI Gurpinderpal Singh, ASI Bahadur Singh, ASI Balwinder Singh and ASI Amar Chand.
