Punjab BJP on Friday strongly condemned the violence at Golden Temple in Amritsar and urged the state government and SGPC to take strict action against the "culprits".

"Such incidents of violence is like lowering the dignity of the Golden Temple that is known as the place of high reverence for all regions especially the Punjabis across the globe," BJP Punjab President Kamal Sharma said in a statement here today.

Sharma cautioned people not to get trapped in the hands of "separatist forces" and urged them to maintain peace and harmony in the state.

State BJP President appealed to the Punjab government to take strict action against those involved in the violence so that nobody could use such places in future to take political mileage out of it.
