Punjab government will honour three students with a cash award of total Rs. 2.25 lakh who secured first, second and third position in the class X board exams.
"It was for the first time that this kind of initiative was taken by the government which would be an annual feature for the regular students from government and private schools affiliated to the Punjab School Education Board, State Education Minister Sikandar Singh Maluka said.
The board of directors has already sanctioned the amount for three students as Muskan Verma, a student of Senior Secondary School Fazilka, who stood first in the class X exam by securing 99.56 per cent marks would be honoured with cash price of Rs. 1 lakh, he said.
Daizy Garg from Spring dale Public Senior Secondary School, Sangrur, who bagged second position with 98.22 per cent would be honoured with Rs. 75,000, he said.
Charru from GTB Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Malout (Sri Mukatsar Sahib) secured third rank with 98 per cent would also be awarded with cash price of Rs. 50,000.
