BJP leader and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu on Saturday said he would not fight the Lok Sabha polls from anywhere except Amritsar, which he currently represents.

After a meeting with party president Rajnath Singh, Sidhu said he had no problem with senior party leader Arun Jaitley fighting from Amritsar but he would refrain from the electoral battle.

"I had promised the people of Amritsar I will always fight polls from there. Arun Jaitley wants to fight from Amritsar... He is my guru... (I) will accept whatever party decides. I will not fight from anywhere else," he said.

Sidhu said that he would never ask for a seat.

Jaitley, leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, is likely to fight Lok Sabha polls from Amritsar according to sources.

Sidhu was offered Kurukshetra in Haryana, and also West Delhi seat, but the former cricketer refused, the sources said.
