Patil said this while presiding over the first meeting of State Mission Authority for Empowerment of Women at Punjab Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.

Patil said all welfare schemes meant for women should be printed in English, Hindi and Punjabi.

Pam Rajput, member, central monitoring committee, National Mission for Empowerment of Women said that security of girls of slums should also be kept in mind while implementing the schemes. In this regard, Patil directed UT senior superintendent of police RS Ghuman to make arrangements for mobile police stations and if possible to depute policemen in civil near slum areas.

Patil urged the members to join hands to implement these schemes effectively. He said the members must ensure at least one meeting in a year in which ongoing works and progress would be reviewed.

Earlier, Rashmi Singh, executive director, national mission of empowerment of women, government of India, presented a detailed report regarding the welfare schemes for women empowerment.

Even Rajinikanth must be mulling retirement after all.Writes Aarish Chhabra
