Seven, including parents, booked for 17-yr-old's rape

Police on Friday night booked seven people, including the parents, for the rape of a 17-year-old girl. Sources said the girl hailed from Jalandhar and her parents had been pushing her into prostitution. The victim was brought to Ambala on Friday and from there one Rahul took her to Hotel Sushant in Sector 3, Panchkula. Another person along with two other girls were waiting.

The girl was later dropped back to Hotel Sushant in an inebriated state. She then contacted police. Her medical was on till the filing of this report.

A case under Protection of Children Against Sexual Offences Act and Sections 376ii (g) (gangrape), 372 (selling minor for prostitution) and 373 (buying minor for prostitution) has been registered against the girl’s parents and the three pimps — Zirakpur resident Rahul, Sector 21 resident Vikas and Chandigarh resident Rahul alias Ganja, and two unknown men. DCP Panchkula Ashwin Shenvi confirmed the lodging of a case.
