Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) member Gurinder Singh Gogi here on Thursday alleged that Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal was enacting the drama of leading a morcha over the formation of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (HSGMC) to pave the way for installing his son Sukhbir Badal as the CM.

Talking to mediapersons, Gogi, who had joined the Congress some months ago, said there was no need to launch a morcha against the Haryana government as the latter had already named the HSGMC members.

He said the morcha was being launched to divert the attention of the people from the ‘misgovernance’ of the SAD-BJP government.

He added that the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) had always opposed the Centre’s interference in religious affairs of the Sikhs, but now Badal had himself approached the Centre in this regard.
