Stars converged in city to canvas for netas this weekend

It was a star-studded weekend with celebrities descending on the city to muster support for the candidates contesting the Lok Sabha parliamentary elections.

For BJP candidate Kirron Kher, bollywood actor Anil Kapoor arrived from Mumbai and urged the residents to vote for her. "I have come for Kirron because I believe in her and I know she will perform," he said. He went to the Sector-26 Grain Market and other areas along with Kirron.

Raghu Ram of the MTV Roadies fame was also in the city to seek votes for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Gul Panag.

Raghu accompanied Gul on road shows across the city in Dadumajra, Maloya and the city sectors.

Raghu urged the residents to vote for Gul. "Gul is honest and will give corruption-free governance. It is time for change and she is the right choice," he said.

The Congress had roped in actor Mukesh Rishi, who did door-to-door campaigning in Sector 30, for Pawan Bansal on Saturday night.

Rishi said: "I request you to come out and vote and give another chance to Bansal, who has given you development," he told residents.
