The delegation led by CBM president Charanjiv Singh demanded simple and non-harassing procedures to be followed during raids or holding goods during transportation. The members took up other issue such as automatic self-assessment of VAT cases where no C-form sales were involved, issuing C-forms online with facility to print them at home, number of banks accepting tax payment to be increased, rationalisation of VAT rates on items which had lesser VAT rates in adjoining states and trade-wise high tax payer to be honoured.

UT assistant excise and taxation commissioner RC Bhalla assured the delegation that care would be taken not to harass genuine traders when goods were seized for verifications. He also said no assessment or scrutiny would be done where the local sale of VAT dealer was less than Rs. 1 crore. Bhalla said more banks would be authorised to accept tax payments within the next 15-20 days to facilitate the dealers.

He also intimated that after the exhaustion of current stocks of C-forms, the facility to get the forms printed at trader's end would be provided as was being done in Himachal Pradesh. He also assured to consider the demand to honour trade-wise high tax payers.
