While Savita Bhatti was unhappy with the UT Administration, she had a reason to smile as the Chandigarh traffic police picked Jaspal Bhatti as its brand ambassador. The objective to select Bhatti as brand ambassador was to ensure that no more precious lives were lost in road accidents, said a police spokesman.

Expressing gratitude to the Chandigarh police, Savita said it was a matter of honour that the police made Jaspal Bhatti their brand ambassador for all campaigns for the next one year. She said the family would contribute their bit by participating in discussions and events organised by the police.

UT SSP (traffic) Maneesh Chaudhry said, “If a message on road safety and abiding by rules is given by a celebrity it matters a lot and the reach increases. Bhatti had to pay with his life in a road accident last year, as he was not wearing a seat belt sitting on the rear seat.”
