Echoing the views of the Bharaitya Janata Par ty (BJP), Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) general secretary and Member of Parliament from Anandpur Sahib Prem Singh Chandumajra on Tuesday said “all UPA-appointed governors should step down.”
His statement assumes significance as the name of Punjab governor Shivraj Patil has also been doing rounds in this regard, whom the NDA gover nment desires to replace. “All the UPA-appointed governors should submit their resignation. It’s a tradition and everyone should follow it for the better governance,” he said.
Chandumajra was here on Sunday to see Patiala MP and AAP leader Dr Dharamvira Gandhi, who underwent angioplasty. Wishing him speedy recovery, Chandumajra described Dr Gandhi as his close friend since their youth days and also his family doctor.
Addressing a press conference earlier in the day, Chandumajra advised the BJP to follow the ‘coalition dharma’ and desist from making controversial statements.
