UT to convert 33-yr-old runnel into green belt

The local administration will be converting 33-year-old runnel into a green belt at the Khuda Lohara village, the work on which will be completed in three months.

Ward no 2 municipal councillor, Saurabh Joshi, said, it is the result of a year-long effort. Falling into the city’s periphery, Khudda Lahora’s runnel will be vanished in a number of days. It has been the cause of various communicable diseases for the past 33 years and now just 90 days away from its makeover. The administration will be spending  Rs. 64 lakh on this project.

Joshi said the administration has cleared the way for this tender. The problem of stagnant water in the runnel will be resolved and it would be duly converted into a green park on the lines of Leisure Valley, Sector-10. He added that the runnel would be beautified and result in a better face of Khudda Lahora village. Decorative stones will be installed on both sides of the runnel and suitable places would be made to sit on the banks.
