VK Singh takes over as chief electoral officer

Punjab-cadre IAS officer VK Singh on Monday assumed charge as the chief electoral officer, Punjab. A government spokesman said the orders were issued in pursuance of a notification of the Election Commission of India. VK Singh belongs to the 1990 batch and was earlier posted as finance secretary with the Chandigarh administration.

State’s SOS to Centre for Rs 2,330-crore relief
