An unidentified body of a woman was found in the Manikaran area of Kullu district on Thursday morning. The victim had gun wounds on her body.

According to police, some passersby found blood stains on road near Chhanikhor village at Kayali Mod and later found a middle-aged woman lying dead 20-feet away from the site. When contacted, the superintendent of police Kullu, Surender Verma, said that it seems the assailant may be a tourist, who had brought the woman to kill here from outside the state and two live cartridges were found near the body.

The body was sent for postmortem to Tanda Medical College Dharamshala Kangra. The police have registered a case under IPC 302 and section 25 of arms act. Further investigation is on.
