Working knowledge of science important, says TV artiste

Prateek Sethi (30), the host of Pogo Tv’s popular show FAQ, conducted a workshop on ‘Fun with science’ at Chitkara International School, Sector 25.

He made a table of four students, all of whom were of the same age and height, to explain the concept of g ravity. He conducted an experiment on ‘Non-Newtonian’ liquid to demonstrate how corn starch can act like a solid as well as a liquid. Sethi advised students to have a working knowledge of science. Speaking about passion for science, he said that he had his first brush with experiments in Class 5. “I haven’t been able to stop since,” he told his young audience.

200 Pakistani pilgrims denied entry into India

Around 200 Pakistani pilgrims headed for a Sufi shrine in Indian Punjab have been refused entry into India, a media report said on Friday. The Pakistanis wanted to attend the annual Urs of Hazrat Mujaddid Alif Sani at Sirhind in Punjab, the Dawn reported.
