Chief of Army Staff General Bikram Singh has exhorted the youth to dream big and work hard to achieve dreams for nation-building.
Addressing students at the annual academic day of Yadavindra Public School, General Bikram said that a mix of vision, hardwork integrity and loyalty was key for success. Quoting former president APJ Abdul Kalam, the Army General said that the students must focus and channelize their energies to achieve big dreams.
Earlier, the General gave away prizes to students for the academic achievements. A rich and colourful variety entertainment programme was also put up by school students. The show comprised of a poignant ballet based on female infanticide ,titled "Disappearing Daughters", and two thought-provoking mime performances-on Indian secularism and a light-hearted take on the blatant use of mobile phones, aptly titled, 'It's a Mad, Mad, Mobile World'.
Junior and middle school girls presented an entertaining classical fusion dance, which was a tasteful blend of four popular Indian folk dance forms. Preneet Kaur, minister of state, external affairs and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. A delegation of 15 students and two staff members from Insitituto Di Instruzione Superiore, Lovere, Italy, who shall be staying in the school for the next fortnight, also attended the function.
