Stray dog menace claimed another life on Sunday. A 14-year-old boy was killed after a pack of stray dogs chasing him led him to lose balance and ram his motorcycle into a transformer in Sunder Nagar.

The victim has been identified as Divanshu Jain, resident of Mahavir Colony in Sunder Nagar. He was a Class 9 student in a private school.

According to reports, Jain, along with his friend, was going to play cricket on his motorcycle around 7.30am. As they reached Sundar Nagar, a pack of stray dogs started chasing them. In a bid to save himself, Jain lost control over the vehicle that rammed into a transformer, throwing the duo on the road.

A severely injured Jain died on the spot, while his friend suffered injuries. Passersby informed the Daresi police, who later informed the victim's father, a hosiery unit owner.

The Daresi police have initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 of the CrPC following statement of the victim's father.
